This was a Design-Build project for the City of Red Deer and it required the cooperation of all parties working together at the beginning stages to come up with a concept that was both visually appealing and cost effective. This bridge is commonly used for family and wedding photos as it is in a central location in downtown Red Deer. One of the requirements of this project was that the bridge needed to complement the formal and natural park surroundings as well as providing longevity with minimal maintenance. Minimal impact on the site ecology and surrounding landscaping were also major factors in this project. Associated Engineering provided the design services and Rapid-Span fabricated the 21m long steel truss bridge complete with wood decking and the precast concrete abutment caps.
