South Fraser Perimeter Road (Highway 17)

Approximately 40 kms long, the South Fraser Perimeter Road (SFPR) is a four-lane expressway along the south side of the Fraser River. It is part of Highway 17 in Metro Vancouver, which connects the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal in southwest Delta to 176 Street (Highway 15) in North Surrey. Fraser Transportation Group was selected to deliver the final phase of design and construction for most of the South Fraser Perimeter Road and hired Rapid-Span to assist with the fabrication of many of the precast concrete components for this challenging design-build project including precast prestressed box girders, prestressed “I” girders, and stay-in-place deck panels for 7 different bridges plus over a hundred specially designed precast moment barriers.
